3 days are the best!

I really love 3 day weekends!

We had a great weekend.  It was a balanced combo of work, rest, and play!

Saturday night we had the Hall’s over for dinner.  Amy is my oldest (since 4th grade) friend.  We had a fun time catching up!

Sunday after church, we came home for lunch and all kind of did our own thing.  Jax and I ended up going out for a while.

Today we were able to take advantage of the beautiful weather and we went out for a family picnic at the park.  It was so fun to take Tucker and to run around with him and Jaxon.

I also worked on a few projects!  I will show you the finished products this week!

The first one is this::

I’ll post the story and pictures sometime tomorrow!  Stay Tuned!

sunglasses at night

I came across these pictures the other day and realized I never posted them! This actually took place last year right after Christmas! Megan was in town visiting family. So of course, I picked her up for some girl time!

First, we did a little shopping!

Meg & Suz

After shopping we went out for a yummy dinner at Teds!
Back in the car to head to drop her off, we decided we needed to take a picture of our new matching sunglasses:

they actually only lasted a few weeks, no wonder they were on sale!

A few minutes later we realized we had been so busy talking that we still had them on… and it was definitely dark out!

I wear my sunglasses at night…..

....so I can, so I can...

Okay, now I totally have that song in my head!

Yes, we are aware... we're dorks!

But.. at least we’re fun! ha!

Here are the pictures from the OU game we went to a few weeks ago. My husband has issues taking pictures. He is not a fan at all! So, because he couldn’t take one decent picture, I’ve made a collage of ALL the outtakes. You can go here to see our pictures from last years game.
Here is Renee and I…and a few random pics:

We had such a great time hanging out with them. We’ve been friends now for almost 9 years! I’m not sure that we’ve all been out together since Jaxon was born. It’s sad. What is awesome though is that they are the kind of forever friends that just pick up right where we left off. We love you guys!

The Thurman's visit

Megan and I have been friends for a very long time. I don’t remember exactly when but somewhere in Jr. High! Meg and her family live in Houston….so they evacuated for Ike. They were gone from home for about a week. You’ll have to go HERE to read all about it.
Last Thursday Meg, Connor, Logan and baby Camryn came to visit us!
The boys had a BLAST dressing up as batman and playing in Jaxon’s pirate ship bed which they renamed as the batcave!

That night we went to incredible pizza. We went there a few months ago and I vowed not to go again for a long while. Well, it was not that bad this time. I guess it makes a huge difference when you go.
The boys were so cute they all had to help with the stroller!

If you know me well in real life you know that Jaxon has been talking about a baby sister for a few months now. EVERY DAY he mentions a baby sister. NO I AM NOT PREGNANT!! Before the Thurman clan got here Jax was excited to play with baby Camryn. Once he was distracted by the boys he didn’t really pay attention to her. I did get this one picture…it lasted about 2.46 minutes.

Thank you Meg for making your road trip head this way! I’m so glad we got to spend some time together! I’m glad You’re home safe & sound! Love you!

Blogger Bash 08'

Thanks for the flowers Summer…I need fresh ones like these every week!

Last night was the big blogger party at MRCC. It.was.a.blast!!!! Summer and Aubrie did a great job. Please go read Gena’s post from today. She wrote how I was feeling. It’s funny how my life would not feel complete without my blogging family!

Not only was it fun to visit with lots of friends, and do a little shopping of course, but the food was great! I wish I’d taken a picture of the food table!!
I made Cucumber Party Slices…. As I promised some of you, here’s the recipe!

It’s SO simple, 5 ingredients.

1 loaf french bread – I baked my bread in my pampered chef flowered shape tube. I don’t think they make them anymore and that makes me sad! What I suggest is to buy a loaf of french bread. The best is Panera and they will slice it for you (about 1/2-3/4″ thick)
1 8oz block Cream Cheese , room temperature- I always buy the 1/3 less fat neufatchel cheese
1/2 C Miracle Whip or Mayo – I use light or fat free
1 package Good Seasons dry Itallian dressing mix
1 large cucumber

Mix the cream cheese, mayo and dressing mix together. Spread the mixture onto the bread slices, be generous!! I peel a few stripes off my cucumber for decoration. Slice the cucumber thinly and place on top on the bread slices. Serve fairly soon, they will hold up for a while, but they are best freshly made. Enjoy. Scrape the bowl with leftover cucumber slices… don’t waste any of the cream cheese mixture, please!

Megan & Me

This morning I saw that Megan had a new post and it had my name in it. That’s funny because I’ve been thinking about her so much this week!

Megan and I have known each other for a long while…about 18 years! we became friends when we roomed together on a mission trip to San Antonio about 14 years ago!

We had such a wonderful time last weekend! I know I’m a slacker in getting this put together!

Friday night Juli Beth was the first to arrive. We kicked Joey and Jaxon out the door & shortly after, Staci arrived! We were hungry so we started preparing the yummy food for the evening! We definately made too much food…but it was worth it! Megan arrived about 30 minutes later & then the party really began! I love her energy! We ate and talked and ate some more! We planned to have a devotional time & I’m so glad we did. It was great to be able to share the details of our everyday lives with each other. I love that we have the Godly bond that we have. We are truly blessed! Later that night we made a trip to Wal-Mart for forgotten toothbrushes. Back at home, I made a huge pallet on the floor in the living room. We really wanted a slumber party feel! Shortly after starting a movie (at about 1:00 am), we all decided we were too old and too sleep deprived to sleep on the floor, so to the beds we went!

Saturday Morning we slept in till about 9:00! That is the latest I’ve slept in a LONG while! We slowly woke up, made a yummy breakfast (sausage & egg burritos & fruit salad) and took our time getting ready for the day! I felt like I was in college again with that many girls in one bathroom! It was fun! Around 11:00 we headed out the door for a day of shopping. After one store we decided it was time for lunch. I took them to one of my new favorites… Falcones! It is true maffia itallian! So good! We then went to the mall for a while, then of course no shopping trip would be complete without a stop at Target! Next, we headed home for a quick break, gathered up Juli Beth’s stuff (sadly she had to go home), and we were back out on the town! We made a stop to one more fun store then went to dinner. We ate a relaxing dinner at Interurban. While there I had a funny experience! I was kind of staring at the table next to us. There was a new group being seated. This girl made eye contact with me and shouted excitedly “How are you??”. I’m sure the look on my face was priceless. At first I thought she was busting me for staring, then she said “Oh my gosh, I don’t know you”! Her face turned red. We were all laughing hard at that point! Staci managed to get a picture of her, because what’s a story like that without a picture!!! After dinner, we said goodbye to Juli Beth and headed to Bricktown (downtown OKC). When we finally found parking (on the 6th floor of a parking garage that was scary to drive in) and got out of the car we noticed a baseball game going on & we had great seats! We could see the entire field from the parking garage! We were ready to walk off dinner so we walked down to the canal. At the bourbon street cafe there was live music, so we sat and listened for a while, oh yeah, we had dessert too! By now, it was midnight! Way past my bedtime, but when you’re having fun you don’t really notice! We sang praises all the way home. We weren’t ready to go inside and be quiet. Joey and Jax had come home earlier in the evening! I drove the girls up to OC and we laid out under the stars in the forum! It was a great ending to the weekend!

Sunday Morning we got ready for church. Joey took Megan to the airport, while Jaxon and I took the Hastings and Staci & Brody to church with us! That was it…the girl part of the weekend was over! I know we weren’t ready for it to end, but glad to be back with our families at the same time!

I love you girls and am so thankful for the time we had together!
