We had such a wonderful time last weekend! I know I’m a slacker in getting this put together!
Friday night Juli Beth was the first to arrive. We kicked Joey and Jaxon out the door & shortly after, Staci arrived! We were hungry so we started preparing the yummy food for the evening! We definately made too much food…but it was worth it! Megan arrived about 30 minutes later & then the party really began! I love her energy! We ate and talked and ate some more! We planned to have a devotional time & I’m so glad we did. It was great to be able to share the details of our everyday lives with each other. I love that we have the Godly bond that we have. We are truly blessed! Later that night we made a trip to Wal-Mart for forgotten toothbrushes. Back at home, I made a huge pallet on the floor in the living room. We really wanted a slumber party feel! Shortly after starting a movie (at about 1:00 am), we all decided we were too old and too sleep deprived to sleep on the floor, so to the beds we went!
Saturday Morning we slept in till about 9:00! That is the latest I’ve slept in a LONG while! We slowly woke up, made a yummy breakfast (sausage & egg burritos & fruit salad) and took our time getting ready for the day! I felt like I was in college again with that many girls in one bathroom! It was fun! Around 11:00 we headed out the door for a day of shopping. After one store we decided it was time for lunch. I took them to one of my new favorites… Falcones! It is true maffia itallian! So good! We then went to the mall for a while, then of course no shopping trip would be complete without a stop at Target! Next, we headed home for a quick break, gathered up Juli Beth’s stuff (sadly she had to go home), and we were back out on the town! We made a stop to one more fun store then went to dinner. We ate a relaxing dinner at Interurban. While there I had a funny experience! I was kind of staring at the table next to us. There was a new group being seated. This girl made eye contact with me and shouted excitedly “How are you??”. I’m sure the look on my face was priceless. At first I thought she was busting me for staring, then she said “Oh my gosh, I don’t know you”! Her face turned red. We were all laughing hard at that point! Staci managed to get a picture of her, because what’s a story like that without a picture!!! After dinner, we said goodbye to Juli Beth and headed to Bricktown (downtown OKC). When we finally found parking (on the 6th floor of a parking garage that was scary to drive in) and got out of the car we noticed a baseball game going on & we had great seats! We could see the entire field from the parking garage! We were ready to walk off dinner so we walked down to the canal. At the bourbon street cafe there was live music, so we sat and listened for a while, oh yeah, we had dessert too! By now, it was midnight! Way past my bedtime, but when you’re having fun you don’t really notice! We sang praises all the way home. We weren’t ready to go inside and be quiet. Joey and Jax had come home earlier in the evening! I drove the girls up to OC and we laid out under the stars in the forum! It was a great ending to the weekend!
Sunday Morning we got ready for church. Joey took Megan to the airport, while Jaxon and I took the Hastings and Staci & Brody to church with us! That was it…the girl part of the weekend was over! I know we weren’t ready for it to end, but glad to be back with our families at the same time!
I love you girls and am so thankful for the time we had together!
