I am sitting here right now watching the last few minutes of the OU/tx game! It is good so far!!!! *EDITED*** WE JUST OFFICIALLY WON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OU=RED RIVER CHAMPS 2007!!!!!!!*
I am totally procrastinating everything productive that I need to do. I pretty much haven’t done anything productive at home all day! Joey played golf this morning & Jaxon and I did all our shopping for the week.
At the store this morning I tried to buy some healthier snacks. I haven’t adapted totally to the book, but I will try some of the recipes in the next few weeks. A few of you requested some healthy snack ideas…so you ask & you shall receive!
Deceptively Delicious Snack Ideas::
*Apple slices sprinkled with a little lemon juice
*Mozzarella or Cheddar cheese sticks
*Healthful muffins (recipes in the book)
*Cucumber or carrot sticks
*Chocolate chip cookies (the recipe from the book)
*Low fat Cheddar cheese crackers
*Rolled slices of reduced-fat cheese or turkey breast
*Raisins, cranberries, and other dried fruits mixed with sunflower seeds
*Gorilla Munch (a cereal, I had to Google it)
*Sliced English cucumber with salt
*Pistachios and walnuts
*Peanut butter (with sliced apple or banana, or rice cakes)
*Cheerios – Multi Grain, Honey Nut, or Plain
*Low-sugar yogurts and yogurt tubes (freeze them so they are less mess)(She likes Stonyfield Farms brand)
*Organic fruit leather (without dyes or added sugar)
*Whole-wheat fig bars
*Whole-wheat frozen waffles
*Low fat graham crackers
Here are some things that Jaxon loves::
*Flat Earth baked veggie & fruit crisps ( I LOVE the Farmland Cheddar)(you can get these at wal-mart)
*Homemade trail mix (raisins, pretzel sticks, whole grain goldfish & sunflower seeds)
*Healthy popcorn (sometimes I put surprises in the bowl like mini chocolate chips, raisins, or mini marshmallows)
*Yogurt with sprinkles
*Apples, bananas, grapes, blueberries
*Jaxon loves water, but also likes juice. Instead of juice I’ve been buying the Minute Maid Fruit Falls. It is water flavored with natural fruit juice.
*Garden harvest vegetable chips (whole grain)
*Carrots with low fat ranch dip
We always have the above in stock. I hope this helps! If you all have any other ideas, let me know!
