So for about a year now I’ve been intending to make my blog into a book using blurb.com. I was a horrible new mother who did not completely fill out her ONLY child’s baby book. This blog is a combination of topics, but mostly revolves around our daily lives. Joey and I want to have this in book form to keep forever. This week, I downloaded the new booksmart software and have begun to edit the book. My problem is, I can’t decide how to format it?
I started the blog in Sept. of 2005. Jaxon was born in April of 2005. I would kind of like to go back and write out his birth story, etc. So…I need your help. Should I start the book in 9/05 and format it yearly, or should I format it by Jaxon’s age? The only thing about doing it that way, is when (no, not yet) we have another child, I’ll have to look at changing it up!!! Also I thought about doing a totally different book just about pregnancy, birth story, first year, etc. I know I’m probably putting too much thought into it, so please help me decide!!! Please leave your thoughts in my comments section…and vote on my sidebar!! Thank You!

Hmm…it’d be cool to have it by his age, but b/c of future kids, I think I’d do it by date. This is totally different, but we have a family website….we bought the domain name for my daughter’s first and last name.com….and it somehow never dawned on me that someday we’d want more kids and having the website address with only Lila’s name in the address wouldn’t make much sense. Oh well…what’s done is done, lol.

I’d definitely do it by the year. That way you can have your 2006, 2007, etc blog book rather than “April ’06-March ’05 blog book” etc. Much less confusing!I LOVE blurb and how my ’06 book turned out! I’m still working on ’07. My thought is to just do it by the year. Go back to before he was born if you want, but from here on out I would say just do it by year. If you have another baby that is part of your life and I don’t see why it would be necessary to make more than one book. It really depends on you though. I look at my blog like my journal so if someone is reading my book they realize that is what it is.

I would go all the way back to Jaxon’s birth date, especially if this is for him to look back on.

What a great idea! I use my blog for much of the same reason! I blog about all the things going on in my children’s lives so that I can go back later and use it in my journaling for a scrapbook page! I have also saved all my post into a word doc. by year.I voted to do the project by year, but I don’t think it took my vote.

I am about to start doing the same thing. I had a hard time with Blurb though. I could never get the layout to come out right. Anyway, I am going to do mine by the year. I started my blog about mid-way through my pregnancy so it is a good place to start. Good Luck!

Yearly. Fo sho!I definitely think that writing out a post for his birth “story” would be great. Maybe even add in some other posts that you want between april and sept.
